If you visit Facebook, you may have notice people posting these a lot:
Everyone's been doing these top 9 posts, I figured I might as well too. In no particular order- tried to rearrange them, and it seemed to kind of let me at first, then just stopped letting me move them around for no reason.
Regardless, I love strategic games that ooze with theme, the sort that have a wondrous blend of great interesting mechanics and that use them to tell a story through them. I enjoy being able to expand my games- but I hate blind buys (never will get into a TCG/CCG again)- with the exception of 7 Wonders Duel and a few expansions for Smash Up (mostly the mini-expansions), and some promos, I'm all-in on these titles. Detailed minis are a fun bonus, but as you can probably tell from this list, not at all a requirement for a game to have staying power for me.
Honorable mentions: Cyclades, Kemet, and Descent 2e. And Millennium Blades will probably find its way into this top 9 soon enough, though I'm not sure what it'll displace.

I can’t say I have a 9 picture favorite ready, but if you like Dragonfire, the game it is derived from is better, IMHO
I will be reviewing Shadowrun : Crossfire sometime soon I hope the original and the high caliber ops expansion , not the new Prime Runners edition).
Dragonfire got a little bloated adding “locations” in my opinion, the game engine consequently did a bit better as Shadowrun for me as a result.
I wish I could hunt down Starcraft, I played way too much of that video game instead of studying when it came out back in my college years...

I like the greater focus on the RPG elements myself, and beyond that I'm just more familiar with Forgotten Realms than Shadowrun.
Also, I meant to link the generator so others can make their own if they'd like, sorry about that. It makes it pretty simple.

bluesocks I've still got to bust open, learn and play Dominion that was a Christmas gift 2 Christmas's ago. I hope you enjoy it! I received it randomly as a Christmas gift too, maybe four years ago now. It was my first deck-builder, and definitely one of the gateway games that introduced me to the hobby.
The base game is great, but the expansions are where it really starts to shine.

I've been meaning to. But, I say that about all our games. I got my intro to deck builders through Star Realms and the like. I'm waiting for Jazz Paladin to review it, so I can really be convinced!

If you want to know what I think of Dominion, you just need to read my Mage Knight review when it comes out soon
