Hello fellow tabletop RPG players! I want to present to you a project very important to me and my friends here at Wendigo Workshop! Our project is called Arkelon Chronicles!
www.arkelonchronicles.com/
A newly made Pen and Paper Tabletop RPG for players ages 13 and up (groups of 3 to 5 players with the addition of a Game Master is ideal, but can be more or less) using the classic d20 dice set but within a Sci-Fi Fantasy setting. It has been in the making for over four years now and after several reworks and fine-tuning this project to what we wanted it to be, we are happy to have reached a satisfying benchmark, hence why I have come forth today to present it to you as the Kickstarter campaign just started a few hours before this post.
However, I am not creating a topic here to twist your arm and force you to give us money, but instead to share with you what we have created and how this Pen and Paper RPG differentiate itself from the competition. Let's start off with the big points:
- A d20 turn-based system using Stamina for its action economy! Want to flail all over the enemy without moving, easily done! Want to accomplish a lot of small actions in one single turn? If you got the energy for it, go right ahead! The Stamina feature allows players to have the actions they want to perform and let them use their creativity more while in combat without the rigid Attack action - Move action - Minor action some other system would have. Speaking of Stamina, this also allowed us to introduce more... *Segway into my next point*
- REACTIVITY! Something that is seriously lacking in a lot of classic Pen & Paper RPGs is the actions that you can perform while it is not your turn! In Arkelon, for a small amount of Stamina, you get plenty of spells and abilities that allow players to make a save for a friend or disrupt an enemy action even though it is not their turn yet! This, combined with the fact that the player's defense is a dynamic choice (e.g., the player can choose for every regular hit to dodge or block according to what they think would be the best option) and roll-based, won't make you feel like a sitting duck waiting for your next turn. We worked a lot on this feature for it to not be overbearing to players and become a mess: interruptions are short and straight to the point so the flow of battle doesn’t get muffled.
- Options and freedom of choice is also something we wanted to give to the players. In total, we have planned 12 races, 12 class options (3 path minimum for every class), easy to achieve multiclass, worthy choices for your character EVERY level (so no blank levels where you gain nothing but HP) and much more! You could have two of the same character race with the same class and have completely different results!
- Inclusivity and openness! Weird point, huh? Let me explain... We, at Wendigo Workshop, know that it sucks to not be able to be yourself, whether you feel left out because of your gender, sexual orientation, color of skin, neurodiversity... We just want you to know that we have a free space accessible for you within our community. We are working hard on our presence in our Discord server and the start of our very own Reddit community. We believe that everyone, regardless of where they come from, has a right to be accepted and respected, as long as they are happy with who they are and they don't hurt anybody in the process.
- As for other short good points that I could bring there goes a quick list: original enemy design based on North American Natives’ folklore and much more, over 200 unique types of weapons for you to arm your character with, several upgrades of many kinds (ranging from a scope for your pistol to genetic implants for your character), flavorful and unique lore building within a never-seen universe full of potential, a team open to feedback and criticism (you can discuss of anything with us on our Discord & Reddit), lots of maps, features and other content are designed to be digitally friendly as the global circumstances kind of make it harder for people to gather around a physical table, and finally, we love dogs and cats! (Who doesn’t?)

- This is all our own original work! All illustrations, art, and lore created within this game were made from our own hands or commissioned from professional artists to make this universe more tangible. Since this is an RPG that is within a very modern/futuristic universe, we tried to incorporate as many aspects and cultures reflecting our own, for representation’s sake, but also to make it feel more real, as life isn’t just droplets of black and white, but more like a rainbow of diversity.

And… that is pretty much everything I wanted to discuss here with you all, feel free to write your comments below if you have anything to ask about us or the project, hopefully, you will be interested to follow us and witness our growth, as this is an important part of our lives for us here at Wendigo Workshop, and we would be happy to have you part of our community during our evolution! Stay safe and good day to you.
